Close call really as both phones slug it out fairly in all departments. Here’s how they score in the various feature areas:

Build Quality and Design: Winner – S7 Edge; for its metal and glass build

Screen Size and Clarity: Winner – S7 Edge for its Quad HD screen and higher screen pixel density.

CPU: Winner – Sony Xperia XZ; for its more power efficient screen size and thus able to perform tasks just a little bit quicker.

Main Rear Camera: Winner – S7 Edge based on the sample photo below. Pic A was taken with the Xperia XZ, while Pic B was taken with the S7 Edge. In our opinion, the colours in Pic A look a little washed out ‎compared to that of Pic B. Pic B’s saturation tends towards more natural representation of the colours within.

Graphics Performance: Winner – S7 Edge. Only just because of its clearer screen and higher pixel resolution. Otherwise, both phones are evenly matched.

Memory Capacity and Usage: Winner – S7 Edge. It’s bigger 4GB RAM gives it the ability to multitask slightly better than the Xperia XZ.

Battery Capacity and Performance: ‎Winner – S7 Edge for its bigger battery and ability to handle it’s Always-On display without a serious hit on the battery usage.

Overall – We give this bout to the S7 Edge
